About Us

Using today’s “Net,” we provide the tools, training, and support for Latter-day Saints to share their beliefs on the Internet. We don’t believe in hiding our candle under a bushel, and the Internet provides a way for us to collectively hold our candles up, giving light to all.

Who We Are

More Good Foundation is a privately funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes and helps members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often called Mormons) to share their faith online. Its main office is located in the United States, but it has fifteen and growing dynamic teams across the world.

How We
Operate

Generous donations from individual church members fund The More Good Foundation. The More Good Foundation supports The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many ways, but the Church does not own, operate, or direct the Foundation. Please see our FAQ for more information.

We join with others in following the admonition of Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

“I exhort you to sweep the earth with messages filled with righteousness and truth—messages that are authentic, edifying, and praiseworthy—and literally to sweep the earth as with a flood.”

Here are some of the ways we strive to do that:

We train church members throughout the world on the effective use of online digital media in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as their beliefs and testimonies. Contact us to learn more.

We also produce various content (e.g. videos, articles, and graphics) that provide correct and uplifting information about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for both members of the Church and people that are not of our faith. We operate and administer many websites and channels in different languages that support the mission of the foundation. See a list of our channels.

What You Can Do

If you are interested in joining our efforts, we always welcome help with content creation, or promoting correct and uplifting LDS content on your own website, blog, and social media channels. No previous experience running a website is needed— we offer the training and support to help you get up and running. If you have any questions or ideas that you want to share or even donate, contact us! Please note that all of our ventures are not-for-profit, and we do not allow advertising or commercial ventures on our sites.

Frequently Asked Questions about More Good Foundation

The name More Good Foundation has its roots in a statement made by Joseph Smith in a letter to the editor of the Times and Seasons newspaper, in which he explained that the literal translation of the word Mormon means “more good.” (See Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pages 299-300.) This concept was elaborated on by Gordon B. Hinckley in an October 1990 address entitled “Mormon Should Mean ‘More Good.’

More Good Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share their beliefs on the Internet. We operate websites and social media platforms in over 15 languages and provide tools and training at universities and institutes, as well as through firesides. More Good Foundation was created in 2005 as a solution to the overwhelming need for accurate information about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the Internet. Employees along with many volunteers help to operate the Foundation.

The More Good Foundation operates several websites along with social media pages where persons of other faiths can learn about the Church, and where individual members of the Church can share their beliefs. We also provide training and support for members interested in sharing their beliefs online.

More Good Foundation is primarily funded by the generous donations of individuals. It may also receive funds from trusts, corporations, and foundations, including Deseret Trust Company (a donor-advised fund), and the Foundation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Foundation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes donations to many organizations and is funded by the revenues of wholly owned, for-profit companies.

There are many ways to get involved! Please contact us.

The More Good Foundation operates independently from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. More Good Foundation is not managed or directed by the Church.

We don’t speak for the Church, but we think the Church views us like any Church member who shares the Gospel with neighbors or friends.

We occasionally donate to other organizations and causes, but we do not direct, oversee, or control their efforts.

I have a different question. Please see our contact page. We’d love to hear from you.
