Karen Trifiletti, VP of Content Development

Karen is the Mom (“Muzzie”) of two vivacious teenage girls, and feels privileged both to be their mother and to work with an amazing organization and team at The More Good Foundation, committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and its fruits online. This opportunity came to Karen on the heels of completing a re-reading of President Hinckley’s biography and a drop to her knees in heartfelt prayer to be involved in missionary work and public affairs in some way, while Karen was seeking a return to the workforce. After fasting, prayer, and tooling up, Karen bumped into and was enthralled with the More Good Foundation websites, and with Giuseppe Martinengo’s conversion story; she contacted him, and was invited in. A position was created, and Karen initially worked as Content Editor for the sites.
Karen seeks to keep a pulse on the global religious conversation, more specifically how it impacts perceptions and accurate knowledge and representation our own faith-based lives and beliefs as members of The Church of Jesus Christ, and then, within that context, oversees the development of content for respective MGF sites and social media venues. She works with an excellent team of writers and volunteers committed to being a voice and sharing accurate portraits of life as a Latter-day Saint, and with each member of the MGF team in working through that development process. She believes that we can facilitate great change in the world with collective and individual effort as we keep our covenants to stand as witnesses–one voice, one blog, one baptism, one life at a time.
Karen has worked previously in various capacities as Media Relations Director and Director of Public Affairs in the Orlando area, Church Curriculum writer, Co-Director in Stake Family History and counselor in Stake Relief Society Presidency, Stake Leadership Trainer, Stake Welfare Leader, and in Ward Relief Society Presidency, Spiritual Living Instructor, and most of all, she loves to visit teach. She continues in her extra hours as conservative political activist. Karen is a former freelance columnist for Meridian Magazine, and previously served with the Arbinger Institute family as a volunteer facilitator, relishing the work of C. Terry Warner, Duane Boyce and Jim Ferrell.
She has a passion for the gospel and missionary service, is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (view her conversion video on http://mormonoutlook.com/about/), served a mission in Germany, and hails originally from Philly (yep, Gino’s cheesesteaks and huge warm soft pretzels). Karen and her family lived in Florida for five years and is still pinching herself that she’s in Utah, beautiful as it is, more atune now to snowblowers than lawnmowers. She holds a B.A. in French, and has completed her Masters and some doctoral work in Human and Organizational Development.
Karen loves spending time with her girls–stretched out on her bed talking and taking silly photos, cooking for Preference, doing geometry at 11:30 at night, etc. She also relishes her friends, reading, writing, dance, jazz music, quality arts, the temple, the temple, the temple, (that’s not a typo), the color fuchsia, seafood, quiche, and vanilla yogurt.
She hopes you’ll not only enjoy our unofficial Mormon websites and tools but that you’ll commit to some way that you can help move the online missionary work forward, as the Spirit directs you. She welcomes hearing from you anytime.
