Jonathan Johnson, President

Jonathan was born in 1977 in the California Bay Area. He is the father of three beautiful children and is married to his sweetheart Heather Armstrong.

Jonathan served in the North Carolina, Raleigh Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There he grew to love the South, its people and its history. He had a thrilling mission, which included many faith-promoting and maturing experiences.

Missionary work is near to Jonathan’s heart. Shortly after he met and married his wife Heather, the youngest of five, he boldly moved her to the Palm Springs area of California.

Jonathan and Heather enjoyed their association with friends of other faiths and were thrilled to teach many of these friends the gospel. While in California, Jonathan started a successful Motor Sport dealership. It was a challenging, rewarding education for him. He also worked for Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith as a Financial Advisor, and was responsible for putting on major corporate events. These included the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic golf tournament and Pacific Life Open tennis tournament. His favorite responsibility while working for Merrill Lynch was recruiting and associating with university students.

At 23, Jonathan was called to serve in a ward bishopric. His life’s most embarrassing experience came his first week as a newly called councilor. While conducting his first meeting, Elder Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles made a surprise visit. The resulting intimidation led Jonathan to completely forget the sacrament and proceed with the bearing of his testimony. This didn’t work well as Jonathan could see the pain on the faces of the congregation. Fortunately Elder Hales was a good sport, and the meeting moved forward as planned.

Jonathan and Heather were also thrilled to have their first child in California. After Briggs was born, they felt compelled to be closer to home. The Johnsons moved to Alpine, UT, where they have resided for four and a half years.

His greatest professional opportunity has come in his association with the More Good Foundation. Here, Jonathan’s love for missionary work and sensitivities to perception and marketing could be utilized.

Jonathan has served as the President of the More Good Foundation since December of 2007. He is grateful to be a part of such a wonderful team, which is doing such a profound work.

Jonathan has served in many callings in the church which include: service as a councilor in two bishoprics, Young Men’s President, Gospel Doctrine Instructor and Early Morning Seminary Teacher (which he did while serving as a first councilor). Jonathan loves the youth of the church and has enjoyed the opportunity of speaking to them. Jonathan is also grateful to be an Eagle Scout.

When Jonathan is not with his family or at the office, he enjoys working as a Firefighter EMT Intermediate for Lone Peak Fire District. He has a love for his family, his church and his friends.
